Moon Valley is set in the rolling hills of Sonoma Valley wine country, about 45 miles north of San Francisco. Moon Valley residents enjoy a desirable suburban setting surrounded by residential development, agricultural land, and lush vineyards.
Moon Valley is just three blocks from two major supermarkets and three mini shopping centers with restaurants, beauty salons, a bakery, deli, floral shop, video rental store,travel service, copy store in addition to various other shops. Eight blocks from Moon Valley is Sonoma Historic Plaza, a popular picnic spot and a center for community events with shops, galleries, delis, coffeehouses and restaurants. The Plaza area also has over one hundred local artisans’ crafts shops, wine country gifts, clothing shops and more. Wine outlets offer tastings and locally-produced vintages, gourmet foods and wine accessories.
Sonoma Valley Hospital is four blocks from Moon Valley with emergency services, primary care physicians, specialists, medical technology and alternative medicine providers. The Sonoma County Transit provides bus service from a covered shelter at the front of the community. It stops at major points throughout Sonoma Valley, with service to Petaluma and Santa Rosa. Among the many recreational opportunities available in the Sonoma Valley are numerous world-renowned wineries, a destination resort hotel, two golf courses, four regional parks and three state parks.
